How would you like to have maps, GPS navigation and city guides all in one package on your mobile phone? Sounds good? Then check out smart2go – an application released by Nokia a few months ago. It’s one of the most interesting applications I have ever installed on my device. Too bad I can’t take a full advantage of it due to the lack of a GPS receiver.
Smart2go runs on the Nokia E50 just fine although it’s not listed among the supported devices. I downloaded the version for Nokia E61 and used maps and route planning features without any problems. Hopefully Nokia E50 will be soon officially supported so we can take a full advantage of all the functions. Let’s see what we can actually do with smart2go:
smart2go maps
The main part of smart2go are maps. You can download them on the go as you browse different locations or you can […]

One of the most common questions that keep reappearing on this website or come to my inbox is How to change font size on Nokia E50. I usually reply that there is no official way to increase font size but there exists some kind of workaround. Trick is to change font for something bigger and more readable. I don’t have problems with small font, in fact I prefer it because that way more information fits on the screen. However some people have problems reading it. Here is a guide on how to change the font in your phone (do it on your own risk!):
You’ll need a memory card and a file manager (e.g. Y-Browser or ActiveFile).
1. Open your file manager and navigate to Z:\resources\Fonts
2. Check the names of the files (these are the fonts that are actually used); they have extension .ttf and most likely they are nosnr60.ttf, nssb60.ttf, nstsb60.ttf […]

Do you keep your old SMS messages? I do but they take too much space on my phone. A few days ago I received an email from a company called Psiloc. They were announcing a new application that does exactly what I need. It’s called GSync and it archives all the SMS messages on my GMail account.
Psiloc GSync allows you to automatically archive all your SMS messages on the Gmailâ„¢ account. The SMS messages appear as e-mails, are marked as read and labelled as SMS. Messages exchanged with same people are grouped into threads. You can configure how often messages are archived.
Threaded conversations! Sounds familiar? This is something that many Symbian users have been waiting for. Now you can have SMS messages grouped into threads on your GMail. Picture on the left shows Gsync in action on the phone and picture on the right is from GMail (SMS label created […]
